How to Experience Bali in 3 Days โ Vietnam to Bali Travel Story
โ๏ธ The Journey Begins
I started my journey on June 11th, flying from Hanoi, Vietnam to Bali via VietJet Air.
It was a 5-hour journey with my cousin and his mom.
Unfortunately, the flight was delayed by an hour and the seats were uncomfortable with poor legroom.
๐ก Tip: Buy your meals while the flight is in Vietnamese airspace โ prices increase once out of it!

๐ Bali Visa for Indian Citizens
As Indian travelers, we had two options:
Visa on Arrival (VOA): $35 (โน2600)
e-VOA (Online): $60 (โน5100)
We chose e-VOA through Atlys to skip paperwork at the airport.
However, immigration still took 2 hours due to a huge queue and limited officers.

๐ Airport to Hotel
We booked a Grab taxi from the Grab Lounge at Bali Airport.
Even though our hotel was only 6โ7 km away, it took 45 minutes due to narrow roads and traffic.

๐จ Hotel Stay โ Royal Tunjung Bali Hotel & Villas, Legian
Price: $160 for 3 nights (includes buffet breakfast)
Welcome drink: Lemongrass tea + Balinese pancake (very refreshing!)
Room style: Vintage-themed with swimming pool access
Issue: Bathroom door wouldnโt close properly
Location: Just 600 meters from Legian Beach, surrounded by bars and restaurants

๐ Day 1 โ Besakih Temple
Located about 65 km from Denpasar, the ride to Pura Besakih (also known as the Mother Temple of Bali) took us 2 hours and 45 minutes due to traffic.
History: Over 1,000 years old, this is the largest and holiest temple complex in Bali, sitting on the slopes of Mount Agung.
Architecture: A collection of over 80 temples, rich in Balinese Hindu architecture and spirituality.
Entry Fee: 60,000 IDR per person, 5,000 IDR for parking
Tip: A sarong is required โ rent or bring your own!
It was a long ride, but absolutely worth the visit.

๐ Day 2 โ Tanah Lot & Legian Beach
Morning:
We rode to Tanah Lot Temple, about 19 km from Denpasar. The trip took around 1 hour.
Famous for: Its dramatic ocean-side setting on a rocky outcrop, especially during sunset.
History: Built in the 16th century by Hindu priest Dang Hyang Nirartha, dedicated to Dewa Baruna, the sea god.
Entry Fee: 75,000 IDR per person, 3,000 IDR for parking
Evening: Legian Beach
Walkable from the hotel
Beautiful breeze, vibrant crowd, amazing sunset
๐ Day 3 โ Chill & Checkout
Morning: Explored Legianโs local markets
Brunch at a nearby cafรฉ
Last dip in the hotel pool
Returned the scooter and checked out

๐ต Getting Around in Bali
Scooter rental: 140,000 IDR/day (~โน780)
Quickest and most affordable way to explore
Always wear a helmet and carry a valid license
Tip: If you're in Bali, rent a bike. It's a total game-changer.
๐ก Final Thoughts & Tips
Apply for your e-VOA in advance
Avoid taxis โ rent a scooter
Carry a sarong for temples
Use the Grab app for transport
Expect long queues at immigration โ be patient!
Although this was just a 3-day trip, Baliโs beauty and culture left a lasting impression.
I hope to return again for a longer and more immersive experience. ๐ด๐บ
